Churchill House School of English Language

I had a great time there, Ramsgate isa fantastic city, not too busy and not too quiet. The school was incredible, i'm used to italian school, and seeing theachers so polite and smiling has been a joy: teachers behaviour sometimes is the most important thing to gain students' attention. At least, being in conctat with so much different culture opens your mind, because there are a lot of differences, and they are so strong and fascinating.

I had a great time there and I recommend you to join. The atmosphere, staff and teachers, excursions and the people were all perfect. I stayed three weeks and this was a really diffrent and nice experience. Not just for me. Also the same for my friends that I've met there too. Everybody was sad when leaving there. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

I thought that this trip would be very fun , it turns out ,it was more than fun ,it was awesome !!!!!!! I have got so many more friends from all over the globe !!!

My daughter has been twice at St Lawrence. Every year as soon as she gets off the plane, she tells me that she wants to go the following summer. She enjoys the lessons at the same time she learns... She says that all group leaders and staff were very friendly and when she had a question or anything, she always found someone from Churchill House around. Teenagers also like that the have some free time during the trips. As a mother what I appreciate is the fact that there were not full of Spanish speakers only a few ones, a lot of different nationalities.

Summer school 2015 was just great, i had so much fun with my new friends and everybody. The most of the Staffs were really nice as well as the teachers:) I would love to go there again. I can just recommend it:)

Our group of 24 students had a really enjoyable time in Ramsgate thanks to the high stardars of teaching at Churchill House School, a varied programme of activities and carefully selected host families. Our students are looking forward to a return trip next year.

Amazing experience. You are not there only to learn English, you learn about different cultures from the whole world. The staff is amazing, always looking for you the best! Also, Ramsgate it's a beautiful town with friendly people. I always wish to come there again, as a student or as a tour guide. I'll give you an advice: Do it!

I came to Ramsgate last August with a small group of students from Northern Italy. We had a wonderful time in Ramsgate, everybody was really happy with the organization: the lessons, the host families and excursions. I honestly cannot think of a single thing needing improvement. The few problems we had with one single host family were promptly sorted out in less than 24 hours by the Accomodation Office and also the Activity Manager listened to my questions and met my requests fully. My students appreciated the lessons, they were tested after one week and a a few of them were moved to an upper level, which proves that teaching is taken very seriously; also I appreciated the online placement test done before departure, that made us save a day; my students overall told me they learnt a lot and enjoyed the lessons. Food too wasn't a problem: nobody complained, on the contrary they enjoyed it, both at the Clubroom and at the host families', which is a victory with us spoiled Italians away from our mammas ! Churchill staff are really professional, helpful enthusiastic, I miss Ramsgate and cannot wait to be back. A huge THANK YOU for all you have done and see you very soon!

For 14 years, now, I have been sending students from different ages and different levels, to summer schools in the UK, Our experiences with Churchill House summer schools, wheter for adults or for juniors, are among best. In the main school at Ramsgate, in Ampleforth or in St. Lawrence, our students, adult and juniors, with homestay accommodation or in residence, always loved the place, the teachers, the activity programs and many of them requested to return. I myself accompanied the students in Ramsgate three different summers and would love to go there again. With Churchill House school I feel my students are safe and accommodation in the residential schools was good standard. For the course & accommodation quality they offer, it is an advisable good value for money. Congratulations. They deserve the award.

I'm luisina from Argentina, I'm seventeen years old and I studied at Churchill House during one month last year: my experience was amazing! Kind teachers, international classmates, great parties and activities, comfortable classrooms, sweet families and a great Social Club are part of the great things I enjoyed at Churchill House. A school that I definitely would recommed and an experience that I would LOVE to repeat!

My time in Ramsgate was perfect since day 1. Luckily for me, my host family was very kind, and I enjoyed lots spending time with the girls of the family. Going to school was somewhere where I always wanted to be. My teacher, Janie, taught us interesting and different things every class and the fact that we were all from different places made it very nice. We spent hours discussing about topics of which we had dissimilar opinions. Food was always ok and not much expensive. The man & woman working in the kitchen were very kind. To sum up, I recomend this institution with all my heart, it has been the best experience of my life so far.

I am a teacher and a group-leader and I have been accompanying my students to summer courses to Great Britain for 13 years already. We have had courses at different English schools but I must admit that the Churchill House is the best value for money! Excellent organization of studying process and activities, helpful staff and spectacular location. I would definitely recommend the school to my students and friends.

I had an amazing time while I was at Churchill. My group and I did a lot of wonderful activities that were organised and guided by the school. Our guides, John and Dani, I still remember them very well, were friendly, always smiling and they knew a lot about the places we'd visited. What's more, I had the misfortune of missing Oxford trip because I overslept. So I went to the school, attended my lessons and then I asked for some other activities to do and they helped me finding one. As regards my lessons, they were really rewarding. My teacher, whose name I don't remember now, had a lot of information to share with us. My mates were from a wide variety of the world: Brazil, Argentina, Libya, South Korea and Russia. Parties at Churchill were a lot fun. We had incredible times in those nights. I highly recommend this place.

I've been to this school three times, and I would go every time I get the chance. The three expiriences had been really good and enjoyable. The teachers are great, and the staff really helpful. And classes are with people from other countries. Ive stayed at family houses and they were so lovely and really care about the student feeling super comfort while staying in Ramsgate. Finally, there are lots of things to do here, or easily you can take a bus or train and be in a short time in other citys. I totally recomend this school.

I spent 3 months in Churchill House in Ramgate and my experience was excellent. Excellent teaching, good activities/excursions. Small place but good for studying. I have recommended this school to some friends.

I've been bringing students to Churchill House for years now, and Main School Ramsgate has never disappointed me, even if not everything was always perfect. Teaching is of very good quality, the location beautiful, many homestay families are real gems. The administrative staff are very helpful. The programme for under 16s ensures that they are supervised at all times during their stay in Ramsgate, which both group leaders and parents love, and the kids do not mind very much. I have had students who return to Ramsgate year after year and I intend to take a group there next summer as well.

I have been working with Churchill House as a group leader from Argentina since 2005, and my students have always had the best of experiences. Classes are really enjoyable, families are super caring, but what I do value most is the great effort that the whole staff make to make our stay enjoyable. John Benfield and the whole Social Club are the best group leaders ever!. I do not have one single student who does not want to return and live again this great experience! I definitely recommend this great school.

my 2 children had a great time at ST Lawrence , the accommodations were of a good standard, also the food they very much liked, both girls came home very sad to leave all the new friends they had made, both had improved English levels upon return

Catastrophic experience in 2015; disorganized staff that confuse authority with authoritarianism, teaching ok when the size of the class doesn't exceed the ability to keep the class at the right level (2 weeks ok, 1 week at a 10 year old level for a 15 year old teen). Our experience in 2014 at the same college with a different organization was excellent.
