During summer its definitelly too overcrouded and changing family is very difficult. Also changing from host to residence is almost impossible, because the residence is overbooked. Host families quality is very bad, in my experience, and from many others too. We only ate toast in the morning, and some peopoe got that for lunch too. We hot normal lunch. But I was hungry a lot. And there were many more students in my hostfamily and in my room than promised. Also prepare to pay extra for activities and they are expensive. Around 25-80€ average for one activity. If you dont use your activity credits, you dont get them back. Being sick there is very common. Many people had covid during summer, me included. Even though i washed my hands a lot and acted safely. But i still went to activities etc. And EF doenst really know how to deal with covid, i hope they get better with that. I felt like left out when i received my positive test. After many many many phone calls and hours i got more info. Online classes are not worth it. The quality and the topics are bad, and theres too many people in one class. The only difference between summer (cheaper) and general (more expensive) is that in gener course you have online classes. And its not even mandatory to attend to those online classes. And if you want to go to activities they are at the same time. The best thing in malta was beautiful landscapes, great beaches, cool activities and lovely friends i made. (So everything outside of EF school) and im not the only one with unpleasant opinion. I tried to take everything out of my trip, but it was nothing that i was expecting. So if i were you, i would think twice when choosing your language course timetable, organization and destination. Malta is overbooked option especially during june-august. Be prepared!

What could this school do better?:
More host families or limit of how many students can apply. Dont overbook the places. Get information clear. Get more professional teachers.

The EF School is modern. You can choose some preference for your indivudually lessons. My recommendation is an intensive-course. You have weekday school (monday - friday) and have enough free time for friends and the ef activities.

The host family I went to were terrible I had to change host family twice, the rules were not followed, I never lived with a family it was just an apartment with many students, the food was terrible, the classes were not so good I was for 12 weeks and I learned English because I had to interact daily with people who did not speak Spanish not because the classes were good

I was in Malta 3 weeks and in addition to the fact that we were in a residence not like the one described (with a very small room), we also taught in another school, not the EF school. Bad organization. I had to pay more for all the activity packs, otherwise there was nothing to do. The teachers didn't teach. The result was that for 3 weeks, I didn't learn any English.

What could this school do better?:
Maybe if EF says that the students will be in their school, make sure they are there and not sent to another school.

My daughter participated in a study trip in Malta from 3-16 august, 2106, in the residence formula in Sliema. It was a great experience, rich in activities, a beautiful location. Her tutor was serious and professional. The scholastic activities were the correct level but were taught in an "amusing" way. Excursions (all paid) were lovely and unusual. The only negative point: the food... awful. Overall I'd definitely recommend it!!!!
